Crit Club with Emily Roderick
20 November @ 18:00 - 20:00
For the sixth Crit Club of 2018 we’re happy to welcome Emily Roderick.
After being out of the institution and working in industry for the past 18 months, Emily is now moving swiftly into final year of her BA at CSM. This Crit Club will be used as an opportunity to reassess current workings and hopefully discuss a potential new work(s) with the degree show in mind. Her time away from the institution has altered her practice, having a deeper focus on the artist as a multi-skilled machine and having a chance to reflect this change away from the studio will prove invaluable.
This event is free and open to the public.
Born in Warwickshire, Emily Roderick currently completing the final year of her BA in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins. Having just completed a placement year away from the institution, she is now returning to university as an emerging artist and arts professional. She creates work both individually, focussing on combining technology with performance, and as part of the collaborative curatorial and artistic duo Yoke Collective with artist Georgina Rowlands. Their most recent curatorial project, Lucky Dip Residency, created a ‘mystery matchmaking scenario’ where artists are paired and given an online collaborative studio in the form of a Google Doc.
