Marianne Mulvey presentation

18/05/2015 @ 17:30 - 20:00

Marianne Mulvey will talk about curating performance and public programmes in the art museum and elsewhere, focusing on film and multi-disciplinary events such as Late at Tate Britain: Performing Architecture. How can the live event productively disrupt the gallery space?

Marianne Mulvey is a writer, curator and educator interested in contemporary performance, and its pedagogic potential. She began curating Public Programmes at Tate Britain and Modern in 2009 and has worked extensively on the Late at Tate Britain and Tate Modern Tanks programmes. She is currently a member of Fierce Festival’s Board of Trustees, and has previously worked on acquisitions for the Arts Council Collection at the Hayward Gallery, curating the Live Art Programme accompanying the Collection’s 60th anniversary exhibition in 2006.

After completing an MA in Contemporary Art Theory at Goldsmiths College in 2008 she specialised in performance studies and continued her writing and curatorial practice freelance, presenting Seriously…? Exploring sincerity in contemporary film and performance at artsdepot and University of Hertfordshire Galleries in 2009/10.
