Libby Cufley is an artist moving image practitioner and researcher, based in Coventry and London. The domestic space, work, mental health and the body are key themes within the practice. Research areas of interest include artists’ moving image distribution, brutalist architecture, feminist film theory, identity politics and artists’ moving image from the 70s and 80s. Cufley is currently working on a project about the feminist film distributor Circles (now Cinenova) using her Masters dissertation as a basis for more practice based outcomes. Cufley’s practice is currently executed across various related media used by Circles/Cinenova artist filmmakers including but not exclusively Super-8, tape-slide and performance and is also exploring the thematic concerns of some Circles/Cinenova filmmakers such as women’s health, mental health, work and formalism.
